Dr. Magee makes some wonderful points about incontinence. He's right, there are many people who experience incontinence as a symptom of other conditions. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 27 million Americans will have some experience with incontinence by 2010.
Kimberly-Clark has recognized this trend, and is introducing gender-specific underwear in March 2009, replacing the current Depend unisex underwear. Here's a link from a Reuters story earlier this week that talks about Depend for Women and Depend for Men.
Excellent talking points and statistics however as a caregiver dealing with TOTAL bladder and bowel incontinence for several years I find incontinence less a tie and buttoned sleeve topic and more a rolled up sleeve topic discussed over a washing machine.
